...so here's ours. You'll probably find that all of our policies are based on common sense business principles and old-fashioned concern for our customers. If you have any questions about anything here, just give us a shout.

 

Our Customers Are # 1

We realize that without our customers, we wouldn't be here. We make every effort possible to provide the best service possible. We could go on for page after page with promises, but we think it would just be best to say that we truly appreciate each and every customer. We know what we expect as candle makers and consumers, and strive to exceed even those standards in our business.

Samples

EFFECTIVE 6/01/04 - We feel that our products are among the finest you will find anywhere, bar none. Due to the high cost of distributing samples, we can no longer absorb the full cost of providing free samples and shipping them across the country. If you wish to try our products, please purchase a small quantity that will be sufficient for your testing needs.

Live Chat and Message Board

We provide these services at no charge for both current customers and those who may have an interest in using the products sold here. We expect all who participate in either service to respect others, refrain from derogatory comments about specific individuals or companies, and act in a civil manner. This is not a place for other companies to advertise their products, or for individuals or companies to sell their merchandise. We reserve the right to delete and/or edit posts that fall outside these boundaries, and ban specific users or IP blocks if those who act in such an intolerable manner persist in their behavior. We want this to be a place that your child, your Mother, or your spouse can enjoy without the fear of embarrassment or reprisal. Remember, we all had (and sometimes still have) a ton of questions about making candles, and the only "dumb question" is the one not asked. When in doubt, follow The Golden Rule.

Privacy

Your personal information will not be sold, rented, leased or otherwise provided to any third party. We do not participate in "mass-mailing", "spamming", or any other type of unsolicited e-mail campaign. We will not provide your personal mailing address, telephone number, or any other identifying information to a third party. We respect your privacy, and value the trust our customers have placed in us. In the event this company is sold, all records of previous sales are considered assets of the company and may be transferred to the new ownership as such.

Shipping & Additional Charges

All orders will be processed as quickly as possible. We make every effort to ship all orders within 2 to 3 business days (48 to 72 hours) after payment is made. If you order on a day we are closed, such as a weekend day, your order will fall into processing on the next day we are open. If you order after hours, your order will also fall into the next business day's processing queue.

In the event you change an existing order by adding, dropping, substituting or any other way, your order will be treated as a new order. In other words, you order will be processed as if it had just been placed. You will lose your existing place in line and your order will go to the current end of our processing queue. This also pertains to existing orders that are combined. It is unfair to other waiting customers to place your order ahead of theirs; we hope you understand this position and realize that it secures your order's timely processing as well as those of others. Combined orders having different billing names, payment methods and such may result in slightly longer processing times due to these considerations.

Unless otherwise specified, we DO NOT place anything on backorder. Doing so greatly complicates not only processing your order, but its delivery as well. If we are out of stock of an item, you will not be charged for the merchandise and you will need to reorder as the item becomes available again. In cases where the backorder occurs after you have submitted a PayPal payment for the full total, we will ship the out of stock merchandise at no additional charge to you when it arrives at our warehouse.

We ship all orders UPS Standard Ground. We insure all packages for their full value, in the unlikely event that your merchandise may be damaged during transit. If you require other shipping arrangements (Next Day Air, Second Day Air, etc.) please notify us at the time you place your order so that we may give you an accurate shipping cost.

If we incur any additional charges such as forwarding, address correction or any other charge that may be due to an incorrect / incomplete delivery address that was given by the customer at the time their order is placed, the customer will be responsible for these additional charges. If the order was placed by credit card, we will bill those charges to the same credit card and send a paid invoice to the customer. If the order was paid by PayPal, we will send a payment request to the customer's e-mail address. If payment was mailed to us, we will send an invoice requesting payment  to the customer.

EFFECTIVE 6/01/04 - Due to rising fuel prices and logistical implications, we now ship ALL orders located in the Continental United States via UPS. The only packages we will continue to ship via USPS will be those to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the islands of the Caribbean.

EFFECTIVE 6/01/07 - Due to environmental conditions during transit and lack of institutional recourse regarding foreign-based credit cards, we no longer ship outside the Continental United States, Alaska and Hawaii.

Canadian Customers

EFFECTIVE 10/01/06 - We no longer ship outside the United States and its territories.

International Orders

At this time, we ship only to locations based in North America unless to a U.S. Military facility. This is due largely in part to the fact that we have little or no recourse in the event of credit card fraud regarding international orders.

U.S. Military Orders

First, we would like to thank each and every one of you for your service to our country. Your sacrifice often goes unnoticed, and we appreciate all you do for us and everyone else here at home. We ship all military orders via USPS, and do so per the guidelines above.

Payments

We accept the following forms of payment via our PayPal service: VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and electronic check payment. We reserve the right to change these methods as the PayPal service may change or discontinue this payment service in the future. You may also call or fax us at 1 (502) 863-4611 to charge your order to your VISA or MasterCard.

Your credit card statement may show this as a charge from Walnut Ridge General Store. This is the parent company of Bluegrass Candle Supply.

Due to processing costs involved, our minimum order amount for credit cards is $10.00 before shipping charges are added.

We also accept payment by cash, check or money order. All payments are based upon United States dollars, and all credit card payments MUST be issued by banks physically located within the United States. We reserve the right to hold orders paid for by check for up to 10 business days, or as soon as the payment clears our bank. International money orders will be allowed to clear all financial institutions for up to 10 business days after deposit prior to shipping. In the event a check or money order is returned for any reason, there will be a $25 service fee charged in addition to the amount of the returned item. In the event of a returned payment, the holder of the account is subject to prosecution, and will be responsible for all cost incurred in collecting the debt. These costs include, but are not limited to: Collection agency charges, Attorney fees, and all other associated costs. Should this matter be taken to Court, the jurisdiction would be Scott County, Kentucky.

If our bank notifies us of a returned check and your order is in transit, we reserve the right to contact the shipper and have the order returned to us until the matter is resolved. In such an instance, you will also be responsible for an additional shipping charge to send the order back to you. This will result in you being charged twice for shipping the order.

If you write a check that is returned, we will require all future orders to be paid by cash, USPS Postal money order or certified bank check.

Returns

All sales are final. We do not accept returns due to the fact that we can not guarantee the integrity of returned goods. Please be sure you are satisfied with your choice of fragrance oils prior to purchasing. We would suggest trying a sample before ordering a large amount of the same scent. While this may be an initial inconvenience, please be assured that we do this only to protect all of our customers from any possibility of buying a contaminated returned product.

If there is an error in your order, you MUST notify us within 48 hours of the delivery of your order.

In the event that we make an obvious mistake, we will correct this mistake at no additional charge to the customer.

We reserve the right to refuse service to any individual or company. We will not tolerate harassing phone calls, e-mails, or threats. If any legal, ethical or moral borders are crossed as such, we may prosecute to the fullest extent of the law if applicable to that particular situation. Such refusal is not subject to further discussion, and future reinstatement of services will not occur.
